Need to accentuate the last FIVE words in your statement...”A Teen Willing To Work”. No time for texting or video games. Your right tho, it’s a great program and gives the kids a savings boost and a look at what a real job is. They have the same with Antietam and Gettysburg but I believe they’re volunteers with no pay.

Thanks for posting this! Looks like a great job for a high school student—And it gets kids to go outside for a change. Win-win

Yes trail crew is hard work but it is awesome! If I were younger... A summer of experience at the local park can lead to a summer spent in the backcountry of the sierras, rockies, tetons, etc... that people save all year to spend a couple weeks in. Starting on trail crew is also a great way for a high school aged person to start an adventurous career with a land management agency.
