Nowhere should a citizen be outgunned by a criminal, but it's becoming an everyday occurrence far too often.

Unless you're in parts of Charm City where you're only outgunned if your C&R break top revolver has less mis-matched rounds than the the other guy's stolen C&R break top revolver with mismatched rounds...

I was told not to use hand loaded ammo for defense. That can be twisted in court. Use manufacturer ammo. You blood thirsty mayhem pig.

I know. More BGOS. I built the SBR I’m using, and have a Geissele rapid fire trigger in it. There will be no doubt I did what I intended to do. Defend my home. Prove it’s a bad shoot, that will be the real burden.

google is your friend, I am not.
The best way to avoid shooting through drywall is the hang from the ceiling in red spandex. You preserve the element of surprise, and all your shots go through the floor into the foundation.

    Your Welcome.

I was going to say that earlier, but I figured it was obvious, and besides posting on a phone is a hassle.

    http://abcnews.go.com/US/virginia-tech-student-arrested-possessing-assault-rifle-attempting/story?id=52759734

It is not illegal for foreigners to purchase AR-15 or 30-round magazines in VA it appears, but once he inserted that 30-round into AR-15, it becomes an "assault weapon" which is is illegal for foreigners to own.

It is disturbing that in that ABC news that everyone is assuming he is doing harm, and glad police "potentially stopped a mass shooting", but it got me thinking about our own situation.

I understand MD doesn't ban possession of 10+ round magazines, but will it potentially give us legal trouble if such magazine is used in home defense, especially for guns purchased after 2013? One last thing you want to defend is the homeowner used an evil high capacity "illegal" magazine to kill that poor gentle guy.

    What are you thoughts?
The Bloomberg anti-gun trolls are active again, as seen in the first post. Just like I've seen in other gun forums, they spread misinformation designed to increase fear, uncertain, and doubt (FUD) about gun ownership and use. There's no legal jeopardy in using "high capacity" (gun banner's terminology) magazines. Go away troll.

Absolutely. Everyone knows that it doesn't hurt as much if you get shot by junk guns.

    Oh, but the ignominy!

I'd rather be shot by a nice Hi Power or SIG p210 than a Glock or a Hi Point.

Perhaps a clean, number-matching Luger with Imperial markings and original wooden-base magazine. That would be nice.

But no VoPo or Russian Capture.

I know what Mr. Ayoob says. I still feel like I’m just picking the best tool for the job. I can support that scientifically.

Masaad Ayoob also says you should always inform the traffic cop that you're carrying, even where not required. Even in those states that dropped the requirement because they found it caused problems.

    P210? Oy...

    SIG, Neuhausen-made, of course.

    No Sauer, please.

For all you folks who are worried about magazine size in a firearm you keep on your property to protect yourself and family, think about this. Would you rather be alive with your family because you did the right thing or would you rather have your name tossed about the net like the ass who kept his guns loaded with no round chambered? :innocent0

I'm sure ya'll remember the outcome of that one. :sad20:

It would depend on if the ammo is some uranium dipped, diamond projectile. Then you're in trouble. Like others have said, an AG can charge you for anything they want. Could they charge you, sure. Will they charge you, probably not. But don't be dipping your bullets in uranium or you may be in trouble. :D

interestingly enough, Massad Ayoob explains this argument in his MAG 20, MAG 40, MAG 80 and MAG120 classes, in addition to his co-taught DEADLY FORCE INSTRUCTOR program. handloads=forensic nightmare, factory loads=standards set by the industry, quality control standards, easy to replicate for forensic purposes.

Mas also recommends keeping a box of ammo of the same lot that you use in your gun as a defense against some DA trying to say you shot the guy with special zombie loads. ( I do as he says)

notwithstanding, at least keep the flap on the box of ammo loaded for Personal Protection, date all info. when bought, when loaded for personal protection, and know the specifics.
