The reason these things fail is because there is not much 'suffering'. If you want to carry, you go to your class, get the permit and receive reciprocity with all the surrounding states. The constitutional carry legislation is felt to be something pushed for by out of state interests and there is nothing that gets a rural legislators hackles up like outside interference.

Passed full Senate 34-13. On to the Governor, who still hasn't commented that I'm aware of. In any event, they easily have the votes for an override.

Doug Burgum (R) (now North Dakota Governor) for North Dakota - Second Amendment

It says he's a champion for North Dakota gun rights. Now's his chance to prove it.

Well, he's a farm kid. Mortgaged the family farm to buy his bosses software company.

Congratulations North Dakota.

One more brick from the wall. The more bricks fall the weaker the wall becomes.

New map. Also it's worth pointing out ND does not have any unlicensed carry, so this bill is a big step forward even with the watered down residents only provision.

Even though there's not a lot of yellow left, 1/4 of the US population is still locked into may-issue (i.e. "no carry for you") states.
