Wife just got a message on FB from one of her FD friends....

"If you have kids in O.C. for Senior week, check on them immediately. Massive riot on Boardwalk, multiple LE agencies involved including mounted and K9. Many injuries, massive EMS response."

I've stayed at oh-so shitty once in my life, for free at Fire Week to help out a brother pipe band. Occasionally I used to go to Boogs BBQ at OC. Otherwise, we go to bethany and rehoboth beaches. My experience has always been the 18-22 year old white "bro-dozers" that get drunk and act like a-holes.

    No thanks

same crap 30 years ago. Nothing seems to change other than we can see it on our phones in real time now adays.

    Interesting

A few things that I notice this video has in common with many others I have seen:
    1) The perps, primarily but not exclusively black youth, operate in packs.
    2) Did you notice the robbery of the (by then) unconscious victim? This is a video of a gang assault and robbery.
    3) OC police say they are "investigating". Their investigation will likely write down the time and date of the incident, take statements from the victims, and then go right into a file. Identification of or action against these thugs is very, very unlikely.
    4) Several commenters offer some version of, "I don't go there after xxxxPM," or "OC has always been a shit hole" - which is another way of saying there is no effective policing of this area and for periods of each day, we just cede the territory to the thugs.

Versions of this seem to be going on at a national level now. I'm not sure what this means for the future of this country, but I am sure it is nothing the framers intended.

Heard on the radio this morning , OCP is working with county and state to bring in more officers for rest of summer. OCP will handle the inlet and boardwalk area and State/County will work most of the rest of OC.

I heard NOTHING about "giving space" "light hand" none of that

I haven't been to OC in over 15 years and have no desire to go at all. When I went to Senior week, before the asteroid hit and killed all the dinosaurs, there was NOTHING like this. Maybe someone getting arrested for under age drinking, indecent exposure, or simple assault, but there were cops everywhere. Heck they were more looking out for drunks not getting hit by a car. OC has just become like any other crap hole city in a blue state. Maybe if we could exercise our 2A things would be different.

In the end the police are afraid of doing anything because they know if they do it will be totally on video and they will get fired or charged even for a "good" arrest.

Senior week in Va beach in 1984 was not too wild except in the houses but it was all good fun.

Destin Florida in 1896 for spring break was a totally different story. Lots of damage to hotels. We were tossed from our hotel w/o a refund due to noise complaints. Spent next 3 days 10 of us in a 1 bedroom hotel.
By the time I was a Senior, we already found out how they were cracking down and we were way more tame.

If they start "cracking down' more, it won't be as much of a problem. Allow hotels to keep the $ when lawfully evicted and the "wrong element" will stop coming. My 18 year old already learned his $300 lesson with "tow away zones" now he does not park in them. How about that?

Destin in 1896, hmmm' during my days at Hurlburt field, Destin was a almost unpopulated and that was in 1970. In 1896, it must have looked like a big sand dune.

BTW, you don't look that old. :D

I noticed that one guy appears to have been stripped of his clothes
He then proceeds to beat someones A..
All of a sudden the sea of thugs parts and he is left alone to walk out of there
    Typical gang behavior
Once you prove to them that you will stand your ground, you are free to move about the cabin, unmolested
This is about cowardice and racism
And where were the freakin' cops- This was an open season moment for them and they are nowhere to be seen
    Disgusting
