M1903A3 turns to life of crime, gets arrested

This old M1903A3 turned to a life of crime when it couldn't keep up with the new kids. It was about to turn its life around and become a competition rifle or part of a collection when it fell in with the wrong crowd and got arrested instead.

Hope that the 1903 can be rehabilitated....

Gotta love that computer bag sling. That was WWI issue, right?

That sling looks standard issue to me. I'm honestly impressed that the guy went with the 30-06. That's got some knock down power for sure.

03A3 is WWII build...either Remington or Smith-Corona. Both are very fine rifles and can shoot with the big boys...if your shoulder can stand the recoil. It must be one of those concealable rifles the antis are always crying about.

This is a military-style weapon that has no sporting use.

It has a evil front lug for mounting a bayonet, and a stacking(!) swivel for combining dozens of these!

I has an On/Off switch that allows the shooter to use a magazine with 5 rounds! Why does anyone need any more than one!

Won't someone think of the children?!

All in all though, that rifle looks to be in good shape. I hope someone takes it home vs. it getting destroyed. That thing is pretty valuable once you take that stupid sling off of course.

Seems to have unfairly implicated that fine-upstanding citizen, as well.
