Some of the stuff that was turned in was ridiculous. (Most of it was junk) One person turned in 3 Glocks. Two other people brought in 1000 rounds of .223 and 9mm respectively. An old Colt .32 semiauto in excellent condition with the original box.
    People are just STUPID.

Yep, read in the Howard County Gazette or something the other day that a guy turned in a Glock 17 and 1911 because he wanted them out of the house because his son was getting older. He thought they were worth more than $100 each but did not want to bother with the hassle of selling them because he wanted them completely off the street. Hello McFly!!!!!!!!!!! Must have more money than sense

    1. Get a Safe
    2. The manufacturers will continue to meet demand

Glad we could use the $63,100 to help people dispose of their unwanted firearms instead of just hosting a "get rid of your unwanted firearms" for free program and using the $63,100 for something else, like door monitoring systems for schools that don't have them. Or the salary for at least one armed guard to be placed randomly on any given day in the various elementary schools.

Well the money came from seized assets from the police department. There was an officer there (a friend of mine) that even told a few people that they could sell their guns privately or to a dealer for much more money and most of them refused. He knows his firearms so he knew what people were bringing in. Very sad when people bring in valuable antique firearms and turn them in for $100. Worst part is they get destroyed.

Someone find a shop that will let up host our own "buyback program" and save some of these antiques from destruction.
