  • Once my 5.56 (29.5") Form 1 SBR is approved, I plan on submitting a form 5320.20 so I can take it to PA to shoot. I know it is legal to temporarily change uppers on an approved SBR.
In PA, a shorter .300BO upper with an OAL of <29" is fine on an approved SBR.
My question is... Can I legally (temporarily) install the <29" 300BO upper on the SBR while in MD?

Not to underestimate/belittle Wayne1one's knowledge, but an MDS member who is also an attorney saying "NO", I get the picture.
    Thanks gentlemen.

Well, let me qualify that. At the moment, doing so might result in you being a full blown criminally charged test case for what I believe Engage is trying to figure out in its lawsuit. It is my understanding that Engage's lawsuit deals with the 29" OAL requirement and it alleges that the requirement does not apply to an SBR because it is defined as a handgun.

Right after I read Rule 41P, I am going to have to put Engage's lawsuit on my reading list. So much to read, so little time.
