The anti-gun David Hogg is now trying to shake down the Publix store chain and demands ideological fealty to the alter of gun control. This is nothing more than George Orwell's "1984" and his supporters simply do not see the connection.

His tactics are similar to Jesse Jackson's and Al Sharpton's shakedown of corporations.

I hope Publix tells that little shyster to shove it up his own ass, and that they're not bending over for him and his cause du jour.

The other day, folks were setting their own taint hairs on fire, sending angry e-mails, and cancelling their Netflix accounts because they're running an Obama series.

If it weren't for hypocrisy, we wouldn't have the internet.

Either it's OK to boycott companies based on political views or it isn't.

Our side might withhold patronage , or ask others to withhold patronage( looking at you Buffalo Wild Wings ). But our side doesn't shake them down for $ 1million .

" Give us $1 million , or we will cause a series of public disturbances at your stores " sure looks to me like the textbook elements of Extortion and Conspiracy.

Why can't this be considered blackmail?

It's really extortion but since his "cause" is politically correct he won't receive any legal penalty...much like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton. No state's attorney would risk his career for the sh!tstorm of criticism that would follow...calls of being in the NRA's pocket or picking on a child or being racist.

Truth has become lost...facts are secondary to emotion in today's world.

It's the classic Jesse Jackson Shakedown (tm). Lefty types have been using this successfully for years, and large organizations are too petrified by political correctness worries to fight back.

I know a New Jersey based Waste Disposal company I'd like him to try to shake down.

Exactly. He's a self-promoting huckster trying to capitalize on his 15 minutes of infamy.

And he’s at about 14:30 right now. Hopefully these maggots will get arrested and sit in jail for a few days.

Publix is a $35 Billion Dollar company. If I was the CEO of Publix, I would make a huge announcement for the financial demand with a twist. I would state Publix will be spending that one million dollars on lawyers and filing suit again David Hogg and any of his cohorts for One Hundred Million Dollars. The suit would claim damages for extortion and slander and a hundred other legal reasons layers can manufacturer. Take the gloves off!
