That’s a very good idea. The blonde MDA MD rep. Liz starts her spiel off real folksy, “Dad had guns, named my sister after his favorite gunsmith.”

My grandmother still has guns. Never falls asleep without a pistol in arms reach.

Notice the reps always stop short of why grandma falls asleep with a pistol within arms reach. Does she live where police response times are measured in hours? Does she know that a handgun lets 100 pound grandma take on a 200 pound robber?

If they explained that, it would make pushing for bills to create a financial and time based barrier to gun ownership much harder to make agreeable to the average person.

Very interesting, Google search turned up nothing about this mtg.

I think I'll attend, it said public mtg after all. We'll see what kind of shenanigans their trying to cook up, I can be the mole!

Here is a link to the executive order creating the task force. https://www.aacounty.org/departments...ttman/SP-9.pdf

And here is a list of the members I see at best 2 possible somewhat 2A friendly, but way heavily anti 2A stacked.

Citizen members include:

Bishop Charles Carroll, Chair

Iris Krasnow, author and columnist at The Capital

Sergeant James Spearman, retired Annapolis Police officer, member of the Caucus of African-American Leaders

Jackie Allsup, Anne Arundel County NAACP

Alba Reyes, Hispanic community leader

Elizabeth Banach, Marylanders to Prevent Gun Violence

Two members appointed by the County Council, to be submitted by Council Resolution.

Ex-officio members:

Jennifer Purcell, Chief of Staff, County Executive Steuart Pittman

Anne Leitess, Anne Arundel County States Attorney

Jim Fredericks, Anne Arundel County Sheriff (Designee to be named)

Billie Penley, Health Officer (acting)

Adrienne Mickler, Executive Director of the Anne Arundel County Mental Health Agency, Inc.
