Dried up everywhere? Can’t seem to find it. Stupidly should have bought more awhile back, but never did. Silencer cleared NFA jail and I had one box. Shoots awesome in my 10/22. I’ve got a few boxes of Winchester 42gr LHP SS, so I am not completely dry. But it’s an unknown. I’d lost my boxes of it in my ammo storage when I took my 10/22 to the range. I’ll probably get back in a couple of weeks to test it (Winchester 45gr LRN SS works great and I’ve got about 500 rounds of that. But I need a varmint round).

The CCI suppressor anchored a groundhog for me yesterday. Damage was pretty impressive. No stinger, but still happy with it. And it’s very accurate out of my 10/22. But half of a box of 50 doesn’t leave me a ton to take care of the overpopulate squirrels and if there are any more ground hogs around (there are at least 2 I’ve been chasing for about 2 months now. They won’t go in a trap and laugh at me every time I’ve had a chance at a shot (either can’t take a safe shot, like the f-er was standing on a pile of my neighbors gas cans one time! Or they disappear by the time I’ve gotten my rifle out of the safe. Or too far. I was using quiets until recently and I’ve “had shots” at like 50-60yds which is just too far for a quiet).

Try CCI SV or Gemtech Subs. Both are great out of suppressed hosts. The SV is cheaper and should remain subsonic. The Gemtech is my go to.

I have 3 bricks of the Gemtech subs they are just as good if not better than the CCI suppressor ammo. The SVs don't cycle all my guns but may work ok for you.

Looking for a hollow point round though, not a round nose.

I've got about 1k of subsonic ammo, but its almost all round nose. Looking for CCI Suppressor specifically because it is extremely accurate out of my 10/22 suppressed and a LHP design for maximum effect on critters. I will be testing that Winchester 42 LHP in a couple of weeks, but if there is a source for the CCI suppressor I am more than happy to drop $30-50 including shipping for a few hundred rounds to make sure I've got some very good varmint ammo on hand.

I've been looking for CCI SV and CCI Suppressor rounds for about a month now. When I do find it, it's ridiculously priced. Fortunately, I have more than enough. I was mainly looking to replenish what I've been using. I really believe that this ammo drought will last through the end of the year :mad54:

Sadly I don’t think you are wrong. I’ve got an okay amount of CCI SV. Actually I’ve got a decent amount of all kinds of 22lr. Certainly a few years worth. CCI suppressor just turns out to be really great with my rifle and can...and it was about the only 22lr I had basically none of (okay. I have no stingers, but have never used them). I probably have a brick of CCI SV, a couple bricks of mini mags. Many, many bulk packs of Federal HV stuff. Lots of quiets. Plenty of Aguila. Heck even probably 300+ rounds of velocitor. Managed to snag like 800 rounds of Winchester 45gr subsonic RN a couple months ago.

Count me in as always looking for CCI Suppressor too, can’t find it at all recently. It is exponentially more accurate for me out of my suppressed Ruger 22/45 than just about anything else I’ve tried...including some of CCIs more expensive offerings like Green Tag.

CCI seems to go through limited production runs of certain ammo. Despite the latest run on ammo, CCI suppressor rounds have always been hit or miss in my experience. I would just happen to see them when I wasn't looking for them and of course when I was, they were unavailable.
I can look to see if I have any if you really need it.

I bought a case of it at the beginning of the pandemic. It appears not to have been a terrible idea.

I've got a neighbor and buddy looking for me now. But I am in a wait and see. Don't particular want to put anyone out or a hassle for them if it turns out I don't need it. If the Winchester 42gr SS LHP works well in my 10/22 then I am set for a long time (I probably don't spend more than 20-30 rounds a year shooting varmints. Even with a suppressor now I doubt that's going to skyrocket. I don't have that many ground hogs and I merely like to thin the squirrels a little, not eradicate them).

But I sure don't mind sitting on my butt, doing nothing other than forking over some previously hard earned money of mine to buy a few boxes and have them shipped to me if someone has them in stock. Not feeling desperate yet. If it turns out the Win either won't cycle, or I am getting coffee cup groups at 50yds then I'll need an alternative (might just mean using LRN for squirrels and save the suppressors for the few ground hogs I get).

Sounds like (for a store) I just need to keep my eyes open and buy some once its available. And buy enough once it is available (like a brick of it should keep me sitting pretty for a long time).

I can spare a couple of boxes if you need it. PM if so.

Curious then, Are you saying most 22 Cans require special (as in lower than 1050) ammo to be "quiet" or is it just real quiet with suppressor ammo.

With my SpectreII on my CZ455 the striker hitting the rim is louder than the report of the rifle with ammo less than 1050fps. If I shoot mini mags the sonic crack defeats the point of the can.

I mostly shoot Gemtech subs (1020fps) and the bullet hitting the target is the loudest part of the process. I shot the CCI quiets (710fps) and they are super quiet but won't cycle semis and have a lot of drop at 50yds plus. I put 10 rounds of Gemtech subs through my 22/45 while my wife was on the back deck about 50yds away, I was around on the side of the house at my "shooting lane" and she didn't hear anything.

Just cut an X in the nose with a sharp knife or razor blade. It will expand better than some hollow points.
