Get out in the woods every chance you get. Observe the patterns animals take. Learn to judge wind direction carrying your scent and how to minimize your noise generation. Maybe take some scents and calls and learn to coax game in the off season so you will be ready for the real season.

get a game cart...it will be a lifesaver!

Odd question from another newb. A game cart seems like a great idea... but... what do you do with it while you hunt? Put it up next to the tree under some brush?? Or do you leave it in your truck and then walk back to get it once you get something? (Probably a stupid question... but I really don't know)

Depends how far of a walk you have to go.. we leave ours at the parking lot of our hunting grounds since its being shared.

Public land.. leave it either in your car/truck.. private. Far enough from your hunting stand so the deer wont notice any change in their path.
