Looks like we are going to be able to attend. So I went looking to see if there was already a thread on this great (free) event, and found none.

    It's today, in Bowie, MD.

MSI is having a booth, stop by and say hi.

Berwyn Rod and Gun Club (BRGC) is as well. BRGC actually sets up a (air gun) shooting tent and it is usually the most entertaining thing at the event. Kids love it, and its a great way to safely discuss guns with parents, many of them shoot in the tent too!

Never forget. Celebration of an iconic singer. Can't make it though.

Had great conversations with many Bowie residents that were unaware that the State of Maryland will not allow them the ability to personal protection outside of their home. Was a great day (and continues to be so) of education.

For the record, so as no one get confused by the MDShooters humor...

The town of Bowie Maryland, has held a festival for 100 years; called Bowiefest!
This year was the centennial celebration: http://www.cityofbowie.org/DocumentCenter/View/3202

It has nothing what-so-ever to do with the singer David Bowie, who passed away earlier this year (Jan 2016).

If I were to pick a famous 'Bowie' to jokingly mis-associate with Bowie, Maryland; I'd pick the Alamo legend 'Jim Bowie' for his 'Bowie Knife' alone. Honestly I never understood the appeal of the singer David Bowie.

Jim Bowie, at least has a real town, in Bowie, Texas named after him.

Live d in Bowie for 32 yrs before moving north. Always enjoyed this event & volunteered with BRGC for several yrs. A great event enjoyed by all. Could never do this in B'more cause the knuckleheads would trade the air soft guns for real ones & shoot up the city. That's their way of having fun.

Thanks for volunteering in the past, it's very likely we've met before.
