I use an Autodisk pro for handgun and 223 and it seems dead on whenever i do checks. For 308 i use a Lyman 1200 dps3. Sometimes it will go over .1 grain and it's faster to dump it and go again.

I can't really afford to drop that kind of coin..yep it will take a lot of bench time but I already have several thousand rounds of 9mm and 5.56 in the can so I'm in no rush. If I can do a couple hundred a night it won't take that long. I will be finished by end of summer, just in time for my other hobby to play in (hunting)

A hundred rounds with a 1500 is an evening.

I load my precision .308 using one, and it is NOT fast.

And that is only because I am using a stick powder.

Ball and flake are very consistent out of a standard powder measure, like the Lyman 55, Dillon, RCBS, ect.

Lee is good stuff, but their powder measures do not stack up that well to the other companies.

I have a couple of the 1500’s, it would be nice if they gave you information on the parameter settings. I really don’t like the self zero that they do. I don’t like things changing on their own without me knowing. It would be nice to turn off that “feature”.

This is what I am talking about.

If I want very accurate charges I use my homemade trickler, it can throw to +/- a single kernel.

So it’s not painfully slow I throw the bulk of the (“under”) charge with a measure and trickle up.

I used to use an electronic powder trickler but it wasn't accurate enough for me 1-2gr off sometimes. I went with a lee dispenser and an electronic scale to verify my charges. I would add/subtract a few grains to get my exact charge. When I tried them out on the chrono my SD was 8.2 with a min max of 22fps. I am happy with that. It takes a little longer but I think it's worth it. It was less than $50 for the two.
