    I bought the Colt 1911 last week and I pick up it up tomorrow. It's my first pistol. Maybe with my money Colt can stay out of bankruptcy for awhile. I look forward to making a lot of holes in paper.

    Series 70 bushing finger breakage was the pre Internet version of S&W revolver lock Failures. Sort of.

    Fingers did actually break more often S&W Locks fail now, but still rare in real life. But it was a non-stop theme in the gun magazines ( dead tree printed periodicals) of the day, that finger bushings were evil, because they *might* break.

    Would I acquire one on purpose ? Eh , probably not. But the late FIL had one on his ( Essex frame, GC slide, Series 70 bbl & bushing ) , admittedly properly setup by skilled gunsmith. Ran great, no problems, great accuracy.
