Yep, at 50 years its automatically C&R. There is a way you can get newer firearms on the list but I'm not familiar enough with it to speak on it other than to say its relatively complicated.

thanks. sounds like the way to go, no have to deal with as much red tape. maybe there's more red tape with c&r. so in a few years that very modern designed revolver will be a c&r, wow.

I think you just have to petition the ATF to put a firearms, either the individual one or the model, on the list.

“Pretty please” on stickie note isn’t going to cut it. Good rationale and coming from someone like a museum currator or someone who could be considered to have good knowledge on the collectability of the Firearms is going to pull more weight.

That’s why some things like the Cz-82 are on there. Czechoslovakia doesn’t exist anymore. So their sidearms are considered C&R even though some were made in the very early 90s AFAIK.
