The data shows a higher probability of hurting yourself with it, having the gun taken and used against you, or you shooting someone in your family. You haven't heard that?

The older one gets the less difference it makes. It really doesn't pay to put old people in prison and is probably more difficult to convict them with a jury trial.

The worse part is they can take all your guns and probably all the cash they can find as well. But most people won't get caught unless they need a gun.
