Hello all! New to the forum though I have occasionally come across this place in the past when googling info about different laws etc in Maryland.

Funnily enough Maryland's strict gun laws are how I got into firearms in the first place. I was always under the impression that you couldn't own any guns at all in Maryland (lived in MoCo my whole life, didn't meet a gun owner until my early 20s) but when the new gun laws around the handgun license etc were in the news around 2013, I realized I was mistaken.

I got myself a Beretta 92FS grandfathered in before everything passed, then later a 12 gauge semiautomatic Beretta A300 Outlander to shoot clays, usually at Bull Run in Centreville VA.

I am hoping to get a Keltec KS7 asap, and down the line something on the AR platform though I may wait until I move out of Maryland for that.

I'm into cars, capital markets, real estate investing, and music.

Welcome, you sound like you will fight right in, except for the waiting till you move out of MD to get an AR (you need one asap!)

    thanks all :)

regarding the AR - I have read there are a lot of random restrictions in MD. We are considering a Virginia move at some point so may try then, though doesn’t look like their laws are heading in the right direction

You get an AR with a heavy barrel, known as an HBAR.
Then buy normal, 30 round Pmags out of state and legally bring them in, and trust me -
you will be glad you did.
