I ran loads between 14.0gr and 15.0 of Blue Dot and found 2 points of accuracy at 14.2 and 14.8 grains Had the chrono off at 14.2 , the 14.8grain load was 1610fps.
    No pressure signs.
Both were low but still centered windage grouping at about 2" @ 50 yards. Same grouping spread as the Pulled Mosin Reloads I have.
Going to load up some more and see where I need to set the sights at 100yards to get the vertical right (likely 300-500 yard line)

With my loads using 13 grains of Red Dot, I set my M39 Mosin’s sights at 600, for shooting at 100 yards. I use a six o clock hold on a standard 100 yard target. Hopefully this helps you.

Well I’m most happy with the blue dot Powder coated cast loads
Here are three pics all at 100 yards front forearm supported on a bag.
First is Tulamo set to 100 meters
Second is PPU match set to 100 meters
Third is the reloads set to 400 meters

Iron sights just one bag on the forearm and this Mosin trigger I’m sure the gun could do better than I’m shooting it with these loads.

I shot 30 at steel offhand and had only 2 miss the 12” torso target so this is far better than I was hoping for. I’ll be curious how the accuracy is affected when I run out of this batch of PC Bullets cause the next batch has slightly heavier Bullets by about 3-4 grains.

VERY NICE! Don't sell yourself short. That's fine shooting (and load!!) at 400 yards with any Mosin.

He means the sights were set at 400 yards to get the group in the bullseye. But it is still pretty good for a Mosin. Now, if you were using a Lyman 314299 bullet and 16 grains of 2400, it would be half that size. ;)

correct 100 yards and sight set to 400 meters.
That's cause the reduced loads hits really low so I set the sights up higher to compensate

As far as the Lyman bullet and 2400, darn sure and I'll be giving it a try!

This Mosin 38 which is a carbine is a joy to shoot w/ these reduced loads. I was shooting the PPU first and its so loud and a gentleman came by and asked if it was 300 winmag.

My first mosin was a Chinese type 53 and I'm going to try these loads in it. It shot like crap w/ the surplus mosin food. I don't recall if I ever tried it with reloads.

Yeah, I read that too quickly - grr. Still fine shooting with a Mosin.

I accidently powder coated some bullets w/o putting a gas check on them first and then loaded them with my blue dot formula.
    NO BUENO.
base group opened up but more importantly, it was less of a group but a bundle plus fliers.
I took some of those and ran 8mm gas checks on them with a .314 then .311 sizer and those were good. I forgot to bring my other bullets so i could not compare them to the originals but the groups were maybe 30% bigger but I had LOTS of variable gusty crosswind today. Even at the slow velocity, that should have only affected 1/2 or so though
