honestly very rare. In the 10 years I've worked in DC these are the only 2 daytime armed crimes I heard about (unless the DC Alert system doesn't send the email out) . There is always at least 4 or 5 police agencies prowling about

Don't the Capitol police patrol a certain perimeter around the White House? I wonder if they are more focused on security of the federal buildings rather than street crime?

MPDC andd the uniformed division of the SS patrol around the White House. Capitol police have jurisdiction around the Capitol and srrounding streets along with MPDC.
