Has anyone seen any bats this year?

Usually see them around the house at dusk except for winter. Just saw the first one this year last night while sitting on my deck.

We used to see them regularly in S. Bowie, but none so far this year. I've been thinking about building and putting up a bat house but I may be too late, since it takes them many years to get established in one. Just like Liberals...

Had one flying around my apartment for about a week. It would fly, hide, fly, hide... then finally it went out the front door. A few times I considered trying to figure out a way to shoot it with a pellet gun, but it exited gracefully.

I hurt my back trying to hit one in my apartment with a cricket bat. :D

After a week or so, it must have flown out however it got in. Didn't sleep much that week.

Visited my parents house in Harford Co tonight. Didn't see a single one. Usually they are swooping down, catching mosquitoes from their pool. Wonder where they are?? Weird!

Tonight I sat on the porch for about an hour watching the patterns of the squirrels and birds. I spotted at least three bats.

Last night while watching TV, the wife and I saw a couple swooping near the windows in the front of the house.

We still have bats here in Cecil County, I'll ask my dad about Harford next time I see him.

Bat volume has really picked up around the house. Now if I can only get cat woman to show up :)

Every year i would see them flying around the bright pole light behind the house scooping up bugs nightly, also dive bombing the pool grabbing bugs off the surface when the pool light was on. This year and last year I haven't seen a single one any evening. They used to do such a great job that I could walk out to the shop without experiencing bugs in my face. The bugs are all but unbearable since there's nothing hunting them now.

I have bats all over the place near my house in Bel Air. Including this little guy that was flying around my bedroom at 2am last week. I'm remodeling a bathroom and he must have entered through the attic somewhere and then came down to say hello....

We were out last night and had a half-dozen bats bombing around 10-15 feet off the ground. Usually they are up at rooftop level, but last night they were close enough to us that you really noticed.

Not surprisingly, they did the "exit, stage left" bit as soon as the fireworks came out.
