No. There is no need to monitor it, the alarms and the sirens will still work even if they aren't monitored.

So the glass break sensors are a separate sensor with that kit?? That sux.... X10's door/window sensors are vibration(break) sensitive as well as mechanically breaking with the magnets.. 2 sensors, 1 price.

ETA: I have a door window sensor on a shed that is over 100' from the base and it works perfectly.. A good way to add a alarm to an outbuilding. The batteries last over a year too...
