Sad news: Peter Laidler found guilty of arms theft

    This is the first thread that I've ever started that brings me zero joy. Peter Laidler, ex-armorer and author of the best Enfield sniper rifle reference was arrested and convicted of theft. He's been sentenced to three years in jail. Here's the sad news...

    After all is said and done, it wasn't even that much money to lose your freedom over (not that there's a limit), but it seems particularly sad & stupid.
    (plus of course having an evil High Power in his possession).

    It's a "what were you thinking?" moment. Peter had to know that running afoul of the anti-gun British government would bring the world crashing down on him. Definitely not worth it. There are some active duty Brits saying that they're ordered by their superiors not to touch a gun while visiting the USA. It's that crazy.
