    VCDL ALERT

Your emails and calls worked! The Surry County Board of Supervisors member Michael Drewry, who has been very responsive to those contacting him and was one of the signatories on 2A resolution back in 2019, sent this to J. Templin:

I just received this email from the county administrator:

“I will be putting out a notice that the Board of Supervisors has cancelled the public hearing on August 5th. Per legal counsel, a notice on the website suffices for cancellation. Should time permits, I will also place a notice in the paper for next week that it has been cancelled.”

I will check next week to see if such is followed through. Thank you again for your input.

    Michael Drewry

This does not necessarily mean Surry County is out of the woods just yet. They could call for another hearing down the road, so we will just have to keep our eyes open. But for now, good work, VCDL! And thanks to Supervisor Drewry for being responsive and keeping us informed.

NOW WE NEED TO FOCUS ON ALBEMARLE COUNTY
