Rockfish Poachers Caught

MD DNR cites 11 with various violations. I think I see a pattern here, can’t quite put my finger on it though.

Sounds like racially targeted enforcement. As soon as the FB/Twitter mob gets wind of this, the head of the DNR will be offered up in sacrifice and the 11 victims of police abuse will be set free….

whelp, at least they have a place to use their surf fishing rods instead of using them along Canal road in DC. The Mayan mile as one of my brothers called it.

I had a feeling before reading the article. The fact they were hiding fish and dumping them overboard makes it clear they knew they were breaking the law.

Any body caught poaching period, should loose their privilege's for life along with hefty fines. No quarter.

I’d bet they won’t be showing up for court, or paying any fines.

I'm guessing they just go fish and don't bother to pay the state for the privilege. Hell, they can't even be bothered to put their trash in a trash can. :sad20:

I certainly hope they hit them with heavy fines though - that's the only thing that will get their attention. Of course, few will ever pay them.

Yeah, you see this pattern at any state or local park. Go to Jonas green, ft smallwood...wherever and Hispanic folks fishing are all over the place. Busting poachers would be...well... fish in a barrel really.

Besides when you can come into a country illegal, what's game poaching after you probably rustled calves, lambs and chickens from the ranchers along the border?

Oh, they will show up. They know that the judges don't uphold those multi-fish DNR charges and let them off with a single ticket for undersize.

If they actually own anything, car boat ect confiscate it before they go to jail before deportation.

To the contrary. They will show up, pay in cash, and go back out the next day and do it all over again. It is more profitable for them to occasionally get caught and pay a fine than to do things above the table. This is been going on here for decades. The penalties aren't harsh enough to deter these people.

Those who are caught are a tiny fraction of the offenders.
