Some of my first duracoat projects

My Marlin, did some trigger work to drop the pull to 4.5 lbs.
much better gun now.

SIG 522 with the Heavy Barrel.

The color is Magpul Flat dark earth.

DO NOT USE ACETONE OR REDUCER ON THE MARLINS TRIGGER GROUP WHEN PREPPING!! It will eat that plastic.

I got mine to work again but I will be ordering an aluminum trigger group.

Nice work. I love duracoat. When it warms up I'll be a duracoatin' fool.

Rubbing alcohol will work fine on sensitive plastic parts after you scuff 'em up.

Did you bake yours or allow the two week cure time?

Looks good. I tried it out on a pistol which turned out pretty good. Putting it through the paces to see how durable duracoat is. I used a preval sprayer and really like the throw away convenience of them.

Basically I'm waiting for the 3-4 week cure time.

I did shoot the guns the last week of Jan.

I did wish it was warmer out I do have a heater in my garage but it was still cold.

looks good! I'm always torn between FDE and FG when it comes to black rifle furniture...but you can't really go wrong with either!

I'd like to Duracoat the slide on my GSG 1911--- any tips on removing the existing finish???

The finishes on the GSG's wear pretty fast.
I'd be curious to know how well Duracoat adheres to that type of alloy and how it holds up.

Mine looks ok after 6000+ rounds-- I just never liked the slide with all the writing they print all over it..... the frame has held up great.....

Sand or media blast is easiest route. Got a machine shop in the neighborhood?
