I'm finally to the point that I just don't care anymore what silliness they pass. If the State wants to try and turn me into a criminal, so be it. (Don't read this as me giving in, I plan on fighting this nonsense, but in the end, the State is going to turn me into a scoff-law, at the very least).

I feel the same way. Its ridiculous, it really is. These politicians in this state are just HELL bent on creating criminals. Hell bent on it. If they want to turn me into a criminal for no other reason, than to make my life hard because I do not agree with them, so be it. I WILL NOT COMPLY. Anyone else tired of bending over?

Write your state senator, save money to donate for the law suite, and be prepared NOT to comply. Register as a Democrat and primary those that support this nonsense.

    **** them!

Big surprise there. Maybe when the Fudds realize they can't walk out of WalMart with a rifle and two shotguns for the upcoming season they'll finally pay attention to how badly Annapolis has been giving it to gun owners.

Or when they realize that they can't, without facing a you-can't-own-ANY-guns-anymore criminal record, leave their 20ga quail gun at home where their families happen to be during the day. Or go for a run to the beer store from the hunting cabin they rented with their buddies, because that would be giving access to the deer rifle they left in their bedroom for 30 minutes.

I guess we are going to have to start protesting like the left. Vulgar picket signs screaming crying and protesting around Annapolis. At this point what options do we have ? We are now in an endless tilde wave of stupidity. What tactics do we have left. They have no interest in any factual or logical arguments. :sad20:

How many years does it take for appeals to laws like this get to SCOTUS? Assuming they take these cases?

Which does nothing, from their perspective, but prove them right.

And when they protest with vulgarity we know they're lunatics. Yet some how that doesn't hinder their march towards power. For how long has the conservative movement been "taking the high road" with the progressive enemy? And in that same time frame who has gained more power in government and control over society???

Ok. I just gave the text of the bill a read-through, and while it is horrible, reprehensible, and unconstitutional, there are some misunderstandings, too.

Big surprise there. Maybe when the Fudds realize they can't walk out of WalMart with a rifle and two shotguns for the upcoming season they'll finally pay attention to how badly Annapolis has been giving it to gun owners.

    I hope so.

Or when they realize that they can't, without facing a you-can't-own-ANY-guns-anymore criminal record, leave their 20ga quail gun at home where their families happen to be during the day.

Actually, that would be legal. There is an exception for transfers between "immediate family members" which is defined in the bill as "A SPOUSE,A PARENT,A STEPPARENT,A GRANDPARENT,AN AUNT,AN UNCLE,A SIBLING,A STEPSIBLING, A CHILD,A STEPCHILD,A GRANDCHILD, A NIECE, OR A NEPHEW, AS RELATED BY BLOOD OR MARRIAGE." (Sorry for formatting, it was a copy / paste.)

Or go for a run to the beer store from the hunting cabin they rented with their buddies, because that would be giving access to the deer rifle they left in their bedroom for 30 minutes.

    That would be illegal, correct.

It's worth noting that there are a TON of exceptions built in to this bill, to the point where it's basically a license to buy and a recording of all sales and registration of all guns. There are hunting exceptions, there are shooting range and competition exceptions, there are military and LEO exceptions, etc etc. What a mess of a bill.

I am not surprised it has come to this. I knew eventually it would, but not this quickly. These Democrat leftist have become unhinged communist/socialist and down right evil. They are sick, twisted, immoral and I would like to believe most Americans do not support the way leftist stuff. Most people have no idea that their rights are being stripped from them or they don't care. We have become soft, indifferent, afraid of conflict. This going to have to change..

This is textbook tyranny. I would LOVE to see this type of legislative logic against another Constitutionally-guaranteed right.

Looks like we need to fill Annapolis with thousands of folks again, times two.

^^This. Hogan will have zero shot at any Presidential bid if he signs any of these laws this year. I'm sure he still will if they pass though.

He does not have to worry about re-election at this point. Question is whether he wants to pull an O'Malley and kill his Presidential hopes or if he wants to veto these bills.

Next question is, can the MGA still pass these bills over his veto?

Last question, where in that bill does it require us to register the firearms we already own prior to this new law going into effect? I skimmed through it and I can see where somebody moving into the state has to register everything, but where does it say that current residents have to register everything they own prior to this bill passing?

This POS bill might be justification for another spending spree. Thing is, I doubt I can get a Beretta DT-11 approved by my wife before this would go into effect.

All of this crap this session might be the straw that breaks my back.

    EXACTLY.

You can almost see where they said "wait, stick this line in there so the hunters won't care. Stick that line in there so the LEOs won't care. Stick that line in there so the layman won't care. Then we've got them."

Next question is, can the MGA still pass these bills over his veto?

Almost certainly. With the Democrat supermajority in both houses they can do whatever they want.

Well crap, you're right. There's nothing in there that requires us to register stuff we already own. Only if you move in to the state or transfer a long gun do you have to register.

Add another line to what I said to Rack above. "Well, it doesn't apply to me, so I don't care." They're coming for the people wearing the yellow stars right now, and the rest of us will be next.

Trust me, I care a lot. I could probably live just fine with the firearms I have right now, and the few more that I will buy before this thing goes into effect. It still pisses me off that my kids, IF they stay in this state, will have to live by this BS.

Yep, it pisses me off so much that I am texting with my wife right now about what other states she would be alright living in and whether we really need me to work to make ends meet. Hell, we were looking at houses in Texas, Kentucky, and Richmond in 2013. Eventually, Maryland politics is going to push us over the edge.

Moving to PA or VA is just moving to a pot with a slower boil. Other states are pushing antigun laws too. Look at the BS Florida pulled.

No one here is escaping the antigun agenda. It's fight or surrender.
