Anybody actually go?If so how was it?

I thought about going but did not.
I need to put in quality time with the family.

I wanted to, I wanted that Winchester Defender, but decided that hiking was a better use of my time.

I went. I wanted the Hi-power but got outbid by a guy from NJ . I went to $700 but that was all the money I had. The Remington 1911 looked like a UMC but it was just a Rand with a flat mainspring housing. It went before the FN so I didnt bid on it. It went for $700. I thought that was a good deal, I was hoping my dad went after it but no go. The mark 1 knife went for $140, seemed high. The corto went for $380. The Ruger blackhawks were going for close to $500, I thought that was crazy. The AK went for $350, the SKSs for $250.

But remember...... 6% tax, 10% buyers premium, $30 handgun transfer/$20 longgun. That will add a lot to the final price.

PS Oh yeah. There were a few guns that were added but had reserves. The auctioneer was kind of pissed and said lets just rol through them. He started at $500 and no one was bidding. Apparently the owner was at the auction. One guy ran a gun up to $600 but the reserve wasnt met. He asks the guy "well how much DO you want for the damn gun" He wanted $1200. I guess you had to be there but the owner came off as an ******* with super high reserves. there was a Winchester 97 riot I wanted but there was a $500 reserve. I could have gotten it for much less. A 870 wingmaster went for $170.

I used to go to alot of auctions, but noticed recently that most gun auctions are bringing used gun prices. By the time you pay buyers' premium, and all that other stuff, you may as well just support your local gun shop, or buy on line. I think some auctioneers (non gun people) think all guns a worth more than they really are.
