Did you have to replace the barrel with a longer one so the slide clears the silencer?

I'm working on something similar (but with a(n evil) 30 rd magazine).

I bought one of the Beretta 71s with the perma-attached faux suppressor, and then had Engage remove it. Threads underneath were in ugly shape and only like 2/5 remaining, but good enough to put an adapter on. So, original barrel.

Interesting, and odd. When I took the 1951 to Engage to see if its barrel would support a silencer, it turned out that I'd need to replace it with a slightly longer one to give the slide sufficient clearance to operate. So I gave up on the '51 and shifted over to the 92F, since Tornado stocks the appropriate [threaded] barrel (and Beretta makes a nice 30 rd magazine for it that I can acquire out of state).

Based on your example, I may have to do some further investigation into the options for the '51 again. Thanks for the info!

Again: it's a Beretta 71, not a Beretta 1951. The Beretta 1951 would indeed have serious problems running suppressed, especially since the locking block is known to be problematic at high pressures. They blew up a lot of them with +P+ Uzi ammo back in the day. You could, in theory, have internal threads tapped and use that for a threaded extension to provide the appropriate length, but I think it would be a bit of a waste.

The Israelis are semi-infamous for having made extensive use of Beretta 71s (22lr) for their air marshals and clandestine services.

I especially LOVE the colour of that handguard. Wow!
Even if it misfires every round....to paraphrase Billy Crystal, "It looks marvelous."
