So I moved to Pahrump NV outside of Las Vegas the end of 8/18 and went to my first 2 gun shows since I moved, one las month in Phoenix and today in Las Vegas. The gun shows here have been a huge disappointment I am sad to say.

The good: There are guns here we rarely seen in the DMV/PA area. Especially MD. AR pistols everywhere AR's and AK's in every variation.

    The bad: EVERYTHING else!!!
No component suppliers 1 vendor had primers at the show today several had small quantities of brass almost no projectiles and NO powder whatsoever.

2 vendors had ammo cans and 1 of them only had a few beat to hell .50s

There are no vendors with parts except for AR and AK parts. In shows back home I bought parts for my M1 carbine several times. Not here.

There were 3 vendors carrying a couple bottle each of Hoppes. That was it for cleaning supplies. Since I was there was looking to pick up a can of Break-Free and a couple bore brushes so no joy there.

No vintage mil-surp at all. I liked looking through the vendors back home that would bring things like sks bandoliers and WWI Grenade Vests or WWII suspenders....things like that. Absolutely none of that here. They did have a AMSOIL and several turquoise booths though lol

So to all of you back in MD appreciate the Nations Gun show and the show up in Gettysburg because we arent that lucky out here.

Its pretty sad when a small town like Gettysburg has better gun shows then 2 big cities in strong 2nd Amendment states like NV and AZ

Depends on the location. Twenty-odd years ago, I went to several gun shows out in California...including the Great Western Gun Show. 7,000 tables, it took up the entire Pomona Convention Center. They had an entire building of about 1,000 tables that was antique arms.

    What I noticed was:
    1. There was a substantial difference in prices. Out West, Civil War and earlier antiques are cheap, Cowboy stuff fetches top dollar. Reverse that for the East Coast.
    2. Out on the West Coast, they are willing to pay for high-end optics. Yes, there's the CHICOM shoddy...but also real ACOGs and ELCAN scopes.
    3. The West Coast is quite inventive in rule-beating.

Who needs a gun show when there are a plethora of local gun stores, most of which will handle online purchase transfers, and no restrictions on deliveries to any address in your state. Colorado was awesome for buying and selling when face to face transactions were still permitted by the legislature. I went to a few gun shows while living in Colorado but never found anything worth buying. Plenty of jerky and lots of knock off WWII replica surplus.

How often do you shoot at Front Sight? I know it is cheaper just to hit some desert BLM land, but FS does have nice ranges.

Havent been to Front Site I have been to the BLM range a couple times and to the Clark County Shooting Center once. It is a very nice facility

Went to the Florida Gun Show today. Pretty impressive. The lone jerky table also sold firearms. Every table was either firearms, accessories, ammo, military and even a table for 2A lawyers. Prices were reasonable to gauging. Not a plethora of C&R, but there were some. One or two that specialized in it. Several pawn & gun and lots of Trump posters. Tons of reloading supplies.

There used to be a coin dealer who sold good quality milsurps off of A1A around Ormond Beach some years ago. He used to go to the Orlando shows. He was a Viet Vet and we used to jaw about the good old times. Dang if I can remember his name. :sad20:
