You can rebuild the pump with orings from this company. https://www.theoringstore.com/store/

Don't be put off by the minimum quantities you have to buy. You may have to buy 25 but the total cost will come out to $4 or something. Your pump should have a parts list with the o ring numbers.

Thank you for the time to reply and the link. The pump came with extra o-rings as well. But if I am going to have to rebuild it every time I use it, I will pass. On the first few pumps, the oil filled gauge spewed all it's contents out onto the floor...I ordered it a few months back, at the same time I ordered the rifle....I have a compressor coming at the end of the week. I'm hoping for better results.

Please report back on your experience with the electric pump. I have been reluctant to get one without first hand knowledge from someone local and not some unknown on the internet. ;)

If you got the YONG HENG 30MPA 4500PSI High Pressure compressor there are lots of YouTube videos showing you how to set it up. Cooling is important as is the oil. I started with a tank and had it filled at a paintball place, but got tired of the jackwagons not understanding 4500PSI and giving me grief about it. I eventually invested in an Air Venturi, got it as a damaged item from Pyramid Air at a slight discount. I fill my tank and use it to feed the PCP fleet. Once you get up and running, set up an automatic reorder on pellets; you will shoot a lot more and more often with PCP.

How long does it take to fill your tank? I assume you have a carbon fiber 4500 PSI tank. Do you think they sell adapters for a 80Cu Ft scuba tank?

I have the Great White tank 97cu feet. I don't remember how long it took to go from 0 to 4400psi but seems like it was 40 minutes. Once it gets to 2000psi I top it off to 4400psi. That takes about 20 minutes. My compressor has auto cutoff that is adjustable so normally I set it up, start it, and check every 10 min or so. Got my tank from Joe. He was on the Pyramid Air 2020 shooting challenge on Outdoor Channel last Wed. Good guy and his tanks are top shelf. He has adapters for everything. If you can't find what you need, call him, he answered the phone last time I called.

I KNOW JOE! I lived not too far from him when I lived on Long Island. I bought a air rig from him years ago and, once we started talking, we must have talked for 2 hours.

I lost his contact info and now you got it back for me. Funny how the world goes around. Well, it's time to touch base again and get some air gun stuff.

    Thanks,

Yep...the yong heng....watched quite a few videos of the set up and use. I'm afraid that I may need more PCPS and I haven't shot a dozen rounds through my first one yet....I've been a firearms instructor in a past life and this will open doors for more training opportunities.

I gotta tell ya, shooting in my basement during the winter is terrific and on the days I don't want to fight crowds at the range backyard plinking is just as awesome. Talk about training, air guns can reveal every shooting flaw and help you to correct them. Pull a trigger slightly off center and the paper tells the tale. No reason to flinch, no recoil soreness, and no sore ears from ear protection.

Yup. I probably shoot 4X as much air gun pellets than I do firearm ammo. I get a good work out too with my Benjamin 392. After I get tired, I switch to the PCP. :D

If I really want a good work out, I hand pump the PCP.

FEDex dropped the compressor off today. I watched a few more youtube videos just to be sure...It comes with the water pump. Only thing I needed was hydraulic oil...46W, which I got for $14 a gallon at Pep Boys, and some watch batteries for the temp sensor...which reads in Centigrade, which is sort of useless to me..but I have a laser sensor if needed. I put the water pump in a bowl with a baggie of ice. I doubt it was needed, as I was only pumping up the rifle tank...I zeroed out the rifle and adjusted the regulator down to it's lowest setting, per the instructions and connected the pump.....Less than 2 minutes...3K. Too easy. Opened the bleed valves and shut it off....the gauge on the compressor and the one on the rifle were in sync. I adjusted the regulator on the rifle to 1800/2000 psi and the hammer spring 2.34 turns. I'm copying a youtuber for his settings...I know I may tweek it further, but using the same pellets and settings, I should be close to his results. As for the compressor....I used it once, it was easy, it was fast, it worked...I checked the filter inside the high pressure line and it was dry...but like I said...only running for under 2 minutes...my buddy has a larger tank that we will fill up shortly...I will see how it holds up.

Thanks for the report. I would love to top off my scuba tank instead of topping off the rifle with the hand pump as the scuba tank empties. I'm too old for that damned hand pump.

Don't forget to use short duty cycles as those little compressors aren't bullet proof.

Good starting point....I need a chrony, pretty sure I can dial it down a lot more and not lose accuracy....20 shots bled off about 500psi.....I filled it to 3k initially with the regulator set at 1800psi or so....stock trigger setting....

If anybody's interested in an Avenger (they are sold out everywhere) I've got one in .22. Someone convinced me to get it and see what I could do to it. I lightened the trigger (still not enough for me) and it's breaks very clean. Put a carbon fiber sleeve on the barrel to stiffen it. I replaced the alum shroud with carbon fiber to also stiffen it and reduce the sound. And I painted the stock.
It's much quieter then stock and shoots better too. Does real well with just the Crosman HP from the tin. Reg set at about 1500psi and tuned to shoot the at 875-885.
I'm just bored with it now. I'll let it go for what I have in it - $350 ($300 for gun and $50 for the carbon fiber tubes and paint)
I also have 2 additional mags that fit it. (1 Mrod and 1 Gauntlet)

Got the caldwell chrony in this week. Just put about 12 shots through it, playing with the avenger. I dialed the regulator to 1900/2000 psi and turned the hammer spring almost all the way in....it is hitting at 860 fps. I'm good with that, since it drilled a single hole at 25 yards. I lightened the trigger spring a tad, but without a gauge, I have no idea what the pull weight is. Doesn't really matter to me, it feels good (compared to the stoeger springer anyway) I've been using a 12x10 breaker box as my catch for years. I have to beef it up now. Since this rifle actually hits in the same spot, I shot a hole in the back of it. My springer stoeger shoots 620 fps and has merely dented it. I will pump the avenger back up and shoot some more with it later. So far, I'm pleased with it. I want to see how many shots I can get if I fill it to 3500.
