Has anybody have a long term experience of a cerakoted firearm? How does it hold up? I am thinking of having one of my handguns cerakoted.

It's not as durable as many believe though probably adequate for most people. The Marines turned in all their Cerakoted M45A1 pistols for new IonBond coated pistols due to poor performance of the Cerakote finish even after Colt recommended against Cerakote.

I was actually at Engage today looking at their cerakoted Beretta 92. I will have them cerakote my Beretta 92A1 in January. Just doing my research on longevity of cerakote.

I Cerakoted a few of my everyday hand tools when I did a few guns a couple years ago.

The guns still look great, but the tools used every day and allowed to rub against other metal tools show regular wear. Better than most baked on paint, but far from magical forever coating.

Hard Chrome is probably as close as you will get to Magical Forever , of readily available finishes . Just lacks color options .

I'm all for supporting local shops, but i wouldnt think twice about mailing the gun to Blackout Custom Cerekote in Florida.

They worked over Chevellenuts Glock and it turned out great

The only one I've found on the shore is the one in Bridgeville. If you go to Cerakote's website, there is a dealer locator tab you can check.
