Back in Maryland and my boys are finally old enough to come hunting. So far, it has been vegan hunting, which is frustrating for them. So far, the only thing I have been able to harvest is all the empties left by other hunters.
At my age, I can appreciate a day spent outdoors with family. At their age, armed trash collection doesn't hold much appeal; they want to shoot.
I hunt Seneca Creek and McKee-Beshers, so no target shooting there. The ranges I can find don't allow shooting shotgun hulls and little moving targets. My kids are 9 thru 13, so that's fun for them.
So, I thought that maybe there's such a thing as a plinking lease. There are hunting leases afterall. I am looking for a 25 yard or better 50 yard spot to shoot. Paper, hulls, cans, but no glass. And if I am picking up empties in McKee-Beshers, you know I am not leaving my own trash behind.
I may have misread the Weapons Law Summary, but it seems like I can shoot in the outside the Urban Area with the usual restrictions: 50 yards from a road, 100 yards from a dwelling. Inside the Urban Area, the range needs to be approved, which is probably a tall order.
Anyway, I am very open to suggestions. And I am happy to pay for a plinking lease, particularly if it's somewhere convenient to Rockville.
