I have to say, it's one of the sharpest blades I've ever owned. I have other Microtech autos, but this otf is probably my favorite knife ever.

    Agreed, great knife and practical.

    Thought I'd share tonight's project...

Sharpening my Mel Pardue Design Benchmade 531, and my Arkansas Master's Damascus Steel "Camp Chopper."

The pic really doesn't do it justice, but the character lines in this steel really makes this one interesting to me... --JBinDC

    Beautiful.

We really need to have a 'bring your knife' show/tell Meetup. Someone organize one within 10 miles of Fort Meade, I'll try to be there! :)

This collection belonged to my Uncle. When he passed away it was sold in an estate sale along with many other collectibles. I just thought I'd share.

I would have kept a few pieces but I'm not a collector and really don't know much about them. I did keep a few small knives. My Uncle collected most of his life. Guns, swords, knives, badges, coins, etc...... Much of his collection was sold in the estate sale, but all of these blades actually were sold to someone that once was a member here, not sure if he is still around. He and his Dad bought all of the swords and knives as well as a Luger and 2 Arisaka Rifles. I sold some of the firearms at Howard Co. and Timonium shows and several antique firearms at the Baltimore Antique Arms shows. I did, however decide to hold onto a very nice collection of Colt pistols including a couple SA Army revolvers.

How many inches is "of substantial size"?

    Here are the specs:
    Overall Length: 16.75"
    Blade Length: 11.25"
    Cutting Edge: 10.50"
    Blade Thickness: 0.28"
Blade Material: Swedish High Carbon Tool Steel
    Blade Style: Spear Point
    Blade Grind: Convex
    Finish: Satin
    Edge Type: Plain
    Handle Length: 5.50"
    Handle Thickness: 0.87"
    Handle Material: Walnut/Brass
    Weight: 2 lbs. 3.60 oz.
    Sheath: Leather
    Knife Type: Fixed Blade
    Brand: Svord
Model: Ned Kelly Toothpick, Limited Edition
    Country of Origin: New Zealand

I wanted something handmade but not machete-esque like a Bowie, Kukri or Arkansas Toothpick w/leather sheath and thick, heavy spine to support the edge on powerful cuts that would be equally good at stabbing, slashing, hacking and chopping. After almost 6 months of looking, I finally settled on the Svord NKT...and I am a sucker for the case-hardened-steel look.
