So, I'm in Canada with a little time to kill. I walk into a Walmart, and it's as if the heavens opened up and shone a light on the ammo cabinet. They don't have handgun calibers, but plenty of .22lr (bricks, with an "s," of Winchester) and .223 WWB.

So, is there any LEGAL way for me to purchase it and bring it back to the good ole USA?

Taxes (14%) and duty/export fees will probably kill me if it is even possible to do this, but I would like to know.

My google fu is weak. All I can find is the reverse (Canadians trying to buy in the US and come back). There seems to be a requirement to have a permit to buy ammo in Canada, so that could be the deal breaker there.

Prices in CAD were about 10% above what I remember for USD back home at Wally World. The 14% tax and any card fees or currency exchange fees make it even higher. Still looked better than the online "deals" that are regularly available.
