Just like the subject says...are there any outdoor ranges in Virginia? Preferably Northern VA...or at least within an hour's drive.
Went outdoor shooting for the first time in October at Antares Defense in WVA...and I'm hooked. Indoor ranges just don't cut it anymore.
I do know about the Associated Gun Clubs of Baltimore but if possible I would like to avoid getting memberships...or going to one club to get a membership just to get a membership at AGC just to shoot.
    Thanks.

You didn't give a location, but probably not within your one hour time frame.

A least I would guess if you were in close proximity to Elk Neck, Delmarva Sporting Clays, Hap Baker, or Myrtle Grove , you would have mentioned...

Va has various "Sight In Ranges" at various WMA's, but not within hour of Md

If you are within an hour of AGC, and prefer outdoor shooting, your best bet is to get over your aversion to memberships, it's not a dirty word.

I think a good full service, active gun club has many positives. But if you truely want strictly low frills range accesss -

Baltimore Rifle Club is lowest cost, least effort path.

Maryland State Rifle& Pistol Assn is an organization you should be supporting already for their good work supporting 2A Rights, and administering the various training and education, etc programs. The AGC access is a win-win bonus.

There are two outdoor ranges in NOVA. The Fairfax Rod and Gun Club between Woodbridge and Manassas, and the Izaak Walton League near Bristow. Both require memberships. FRGC is $$$$ to join and has a two year waiting list. IWL near Bristow is a lot less, but their web site is WAY out of date. Anything else is past your time requirement.

This is where I shoot. It's About an hour and 15 min away from Chantilly. It costs $17/day. You can shoot the Steel targets or bring your own.

Thanks. I definitely will check it out and make way there.
Is it crowded there on Saturdays and Sundays? Or just better to get there early?
