So I just got a pretty nice mostly-matching Gewehr 98 on GB, sadly the original barrel has been chopped down. I've ordered a new 29" military profile chrome moly barrel from Lothar Walther. Does anyone have a gunsmith to recommend who can competently install a new barrel in a 98 action? Major bonus points if they can also do the front and rear sight base timing holes.
(And yes, I realize this is a crying shame in a number of ways, but since Bubba already chopped the original barrel, I think I'm justified in putting in a new one to bring it back to correct)
