I was hoping to get some feedback on how to get the value on my marlin 30-30 rifle. It’s a model 36-A-DL. I am considering selling yet but I don’t know where to start to try to figure out the value of it. It’s in decent shape and fires well with no issues. It is fun to shoot but looking to possibly sell it. Where do I go to find out the value?

Your rifle looks to be in nice shape! Your post and that 24 inch barrel pictured sent me looking, and it appears that the Model 36 was produced until 1947, and was then replaced by today's Model 336 in 1948.

You might find the attached interesting in terms of what you have and when it was made. It appears that the factory in some instances mated ADL barrels to 36A furniture. I can't tell on my phone screen whether or not that rifle of yours has checkered furniture. It appears not, but that may be lack of definition on my small screen.

It seems that checkering/lack thereof and serial numbers can help shed some light on your rifle.

Neat rifle! Good luck with it!

So I see on the link to the other one they’re not drilled and tapped? To me that would decrease the price and to some it would increase it....

Thanks for the info. It’s fun to shoot but just trying to clear up some space in my gun locker. This was my grandfathers gun and before he passed he gave it to me along with a few other guns. The stock doesn’t have any checkering on it. This is part of the serial # on it and can’t make out if the first part is an E or maybe a C or who knows. I guess from what you guys posted with that link it’s a 1946?

Nice gun and lever action prices are out of control in general with Marlin out of commission until Ruger sorts out the bankruptcy mess and Rossi largely out of commission as well.

Hasn't hit .30-30s as much and not sure of that guns value. But very nice and it may be worth reconsidering selling it.
