    A ban list?

Which gun could you buy if it was a ban list.

Purchasing a firearm, like any significant purchase, requires serious research and investigation.

If you are considering the purchase of a firearm and are unsure if the firearm is banned, contact the Maryland Regulated Firearms Dealer you are utilizing for your purchase. Maryland regulated firearms dealers are best suited to answer questions about the various types of firearms available. If your regulated firearms dealer is unable to provide assistance, contact the firearms manufacturer to obtain additional information about the weapon.

Some examples of the questions to ask are listed below:

    1) Is this weapon semi-automatic? If not, it is not banned and you do not need to continue.

    2) If this is a rifle, is it centerfire? If not, then it is not banned and you do not need to continue.

    3) Is this weapon considered to be a copy of a banned weapon? If so, then it is banned and may not be purchased, sold, or transferred.

    4) If this is a semi-automatic centerfire rifle that can accept a detachable magazine, does it have any two of the following: a folding stock; a grenade launcher or flare launcher; or a flash suppressor; If so, then it is banned and may not be purchased, sold, or transferred.

    There's 4 lists.

1.The handgun roster are the handguns that have been "unbanned". All new handguns start as banned in md, and most go before the roster board to be approved for sale.

    2. The banned "assault pistols"

    3. The banned "assault rifles"

    4. List of features that makes a banned "copycat", which is a terrible term, because it has nothing to do with "copies" of anything. Its just a feature test for rifles.

The 2nd line on that page says "This is not the Handgun Roster Board."

If the roster was a ban list almost every handgun for sale would be banned.

I have a question on the Handgun Roster under FN it list the PS90 so does this mean that you can buy the PS90 as a PDW SBR?

MD's legal description of a handgun includes SBR's. So for a long time, in order for a SBR to be sold in MD, it needed to be approved by the handgun roster board and listed on the roster.

In 2014, Delegate Dumais (who promised in 2013 to find and close all the loopholes in the fsa2013), got a bill passed to no longer allow/require the Roster Board to approve SBR's. But they may still be sold. The roster still contains all the SBR's that were approved prior to that change

MSP takes the position that SBR's are handguns AND rifles, which is beyond what md law says. This complicates their sale and approval by atf.

So the newby gun buyer sees the above and says I'll just buy a revolver and I'll be good. Never asks himself "I wonder why all those revolvers are listed on the Handgun Roster, they even list single shot guns like the Contender?":innocent0
