    sometimes a lock just means the mods are saying "enough is enough" and the subject has been beaten to death.

    With hundreds or thousands of posts in a thread sure I'll agree that can happen. With less than thirty in those two threads that's probably not the answer. I'll say no more about it today.

    Sometimes people delete their own posts. I'd probably be near 20K by now....
