Sorry, John! I didn't disappear -- busy with work and got into a good conversation with QBeam offline!

Question (the answers I have found on the boards are all over the place) Got my HQL number online today, do I have to wait for the actual card before I go "buy" my gun and start the 7 day clock, or can I start the 7 day clock with just the number (and proof by going online at the store) and then pick up with the card? Any thoughts? Very happy that our MD gunmasters at MSP only took a few days (literally) to give me an HQL #, but think it is absurd if I actually have to wait for the card . . .

You must have the physical HQL card in your possession. MSP just issued an advisory to dealers about it.

Dumb but it's mD after all. MD invented stupid

Yep.... called Worth a Shot this AM and they told me the same thing.... let's see how long it takes them to mail it. Swung by Nova Armory after work to get two non-MD magazines.... now I just need a gun to put them in.

    Doesn't answer his question.

Uh yes it does. He asked if he could start the paperwork without the hQL. MSP says the FFL must see it in person . Now I suppose the FFL could wait until you come pick it up but I don't think it can even be submitted to MSP without the HQL number first

Hers's an idea. Go to the FFL without it and see what happens.

    That answers the question.

I am certain most FFL's will NOT start the paperwork without seeing the physical HQL

12 Precinct is a great place to shoot if you like Bullseye and .22 shooting. They are in the process of getting another range approved but the county is dragging its feet.

Several members from 12 P shoot at AAF&G including the club president. They are all stand up guys and fun to be with.

AAF&G is only about 20 minutes from Edgewater. We have Bullseye, IDPA and Cowboy matches open to the public. All are held on Saturdays.

Thanks John! I actually grew up near AAF&G and know it, but the hours are a killer for me. I'd love to check it out, though.
