    I went to the Richmond gun show today. I'm in Deep Southern Maryland, Richmond is no further than Dulles. It's a decent show. Not as massive as the Dulles show, but there are different dealers.

    Probably the biggest shock was the return of wood-and-steel sporting arms. For eight years, gun shows have been a steady diet of ARs, AKs, Glocks, and 1911s. Those were for sale, but there were other guns. Shotguns. Target rifles. Revolvers. Antiques. Stuff we haven't seen in years. Wonderful.

    I think gun shows are going to get fun again. :)

    Gee, I sure hope so.
    I had not been to any shows for probably
    10 years...went to a few this year, and
    was struck by seeing exactly what you
    said...lottsa plastic, but not much wood
    and steel...a little variety at Gettysburg.
    Would definitely prefer to see shows
    with more choices on used guns...still
    dreaming of a pre-64 Model 70, or a
    decent little '92 SRC, ya know, stuff
    like that.

    Not really related....

    In Richmond for a month for work. Anyone know of any good gun shops around the area? I know there's a Bass Pro off of 95.

    what's the one off 95 by home depot. red top I think. I cant think of the area other then I know its near Mechanicsville VA. south side of 95 a mile before 295

    Green Top is the name of the store in ashland. Cabelas is west on I64 in Short Pump.

    Green Top was an amazing store. Had to ask for help to get my jaw up off the floor. Also had to pull myself out before I spent too much money. Awesome firearm selection, and happy to order or transfer to MD as well. Great powder selection (had my 20/28) and just about everything under the sun for reloading.

    I'm in Richmond once a month and I make it a point to stop in each time.

    did you by chance catch the hours all this red top green top talk is making want to stop in again heading to south hill VA in the morning
