    Since everyone on this forum has unlimited time I give you this for your reading pleasure. I figure The Curio's and Relic's that hang out here may appreciate the following.

    History of the magazine that became "American Rifleman"

    Arms and the Man was the successor to "Shooting and Fishing", which was bought and renamed by the Secretary of the National Rifle Association (NRA) in 1906. The new owner continued the volume and issue numbering of the earlier publication. The magazine was acquired outright by the NRA, and became its official organ, in 1916. In 1923, the magazine was renamed "American Rifleman", the name under which it is still published today.

    Shooting and Fishing began in 1885 as "The Rifle", and was renamed "Shooting and Fishing" in 1888. In 1906 it was bought and renamed "Arms and the Man", and eventually became the National Rifle Association's "American Rifleman", published to this day.

    cool I actually have a complete book bound set of American Rifleman from 1927 to 1990 I would love to expand it back further but its bucks
