I’m curious what a $2k scope can offer over a decent yet reasonably priced (say, $300-500) scope. I assume (with the understanding that I could be wrong) it is in an application other than recreational target shooting at a max of 100 yards.

You have to look through them to really get it. Very clear, and works better in low light.

I would suggest a Vortex Crossfire 2-7 with a BDC reticle about $120 or a Leupold 2-7 rimfire with an MOA reticle(over your budget but I've seen them for $180)

I rreally like the lower 2x power for rimfire and those reticles are both simple enough to learn on. But still have some added features.

Soooo....PayPal credit offers 0% financing over 24 months. They FORCE you to set up auto-pay. Just saying.....

You are right, though. Depending on your application, you can get by with a much less expensive scope.

Citibank has a Master Card with 0% interest for 18 months.

    Clearer image.

    Brighter image.

    Better in lower light.

More repeatable turrets. So that if you dial up 10 clicks, then dial back down 10 clicks, you are at EXACTLY the same point.

If you look at both side by side, you will SEE the difference.

Leupold 3x9 efr. Many suggestions are all over the board, imo. Parallax is a very big concern with rimfire. Shooting at varied close distance makes buying a scope not as simple as buying a 3-9x40 general purpose scope for deer hunting where you usually don't get super close and you are shooting a 4 inch target. Rimfire lends itself to 25 to 100 yards and usually much smaller targets.

I know, but don't fret a lot about the price. IMO, it is one buy you will not regret once you use it.
