Over the past couple years i have really acquired an interest in pistol caliber carbines and AR Pistols in 9mm and 45acp.

I would like to gain some feedback from anyone regarding their experiences with AR 45acp. I am interested in hearing what buffer and spring combo has worked the best for 45.

I have an Olympic Arms .45 ACP M4...one of the most fun guns ever. It's exceedingly accurate and has never failed. I don't know the buffer and spring combo specs but it is optimized for the upper. I've had mine for over twenty-five years and can recommend it completely. It doesn't have the fit and finish of a Colt but its beauty is in its performance. I also have a Colt 9mm Carbine but haven't fired it yet but I expect it will be just as nice performance-wise.

Here's the Olympic Arms...they sell just the upper as well as an entire carbine.

    Fun guns to shoot

My gun has a Kaw Valley 8” barrel, New Frontier Armory BCG, AR-10 spring, and a 10oz buffer. I run a really heavy buffer and spring because I mostly shoot suppressed.

You would have to search for a used Olympic, as they have gone out of business.

Not to be rude but there is no NFA part of this is there?

IHMO, I don't really care for pistol semi carbines. I had a semi Tommy and MP40 SBR. I sold them both. I don't really like my 9mm upper on my M16 and would not really recommend it in FA.

I love pistol semi SBR's. That's just me.....

Hlou650, thanks for the feedback. I will try it with 308 spring and heavier buffer. How do you like your set up?
