Competition Shooter
True, but funny thing is its more reliable than just about any real AR-22, even mine, although mine have functioned near flawlessly in competition when called on. But yes it is different but takes most of the same AR parts that an AR-22 takes. It takes standard AR triggers, stocks (mil-spec), handguards (with the proper mod), comps, flashhiders, sights, optics, etc, with only one real caveat and that is the lower is thicker side-to-side and the takedown pin locations are slightly off so that some dummy can't try to put an AR upper on it.M&P15-22 is a somewhat different animal than we're talking about.
Here is a side-by-side photo of my race 15-22 and my race AR-22 and you can see some of the same parts are on each.
The real AR is actually the bottom one, with the 15-22 on top. The 15-22 has a Geissele Super 3-Gun trigger while the AR-22 has a Timney 3# competition single stage drop in. Both have Taccom carbon fiber handguards
