    I want to get a Safariland holster. I was looking at the 6004. I want to be able to raise it up so it is not on my thigh. I hate thigh holsters, but I need it dropped more then a belt holster in order to clear chest rig or armor.

    With the 6004 paddle holster are you able to adjust it so it rides very high instead of your thigh near the knee?

    Thanks for the help.

    EDIT: also, the pistol is a Glock 19. I think one of the holsters I was looking it was actually a 6002.

    The paddle is non adjustable. I recommend getting a good belt and the safariland mid or low ride belt adapter. The 6004 leg shroud (ie the drop leg with only 1 strap) can be raised very high but you might have to cut/adjust the strap that comes with it, you will still need a solid belt with this option.
    Leg rig I think you are talking about:

    For another alternative, find a Safariland holster you like, For example this one, but any belt or paddle SLS or ALS will work;

    http://www.safariland.com/DutyGear/product.aspx?pid=6377

    Then get a Safariland UBL (Universal Belt Loop), here is one example with a 2 inch drop. There is also a 1.5 inch drop which is not enough for me.

    Put them together, and you will have the drop without a hassle of a thigh rig.

    Look at comp tech international holster. They have drop offset setup. I believe they are 2" drop.

    Safariland makes 1.5 inch drop belt adapters as well as high ones. I put the high belt adapters on all of mine and removed the drop adapter Here is what I put on mine. The 3 screw pattern is the same..

    I've seen guys with it dropped and just one leg strap. I'm not sure how they are doing it but I like it. I need it dropped to clear a plate carrier but not too law where it will piss me off.

    :thumbsup: I use an international for IDPA and it's awesome. You can mount for a belt or paddle and drop offset for each. Takes maybe a minute to switch the mount if that. Definitely worth that money.

    You also might want to check out GCODE RTI wheels and safariland adapters. I have them on all my holsters. They are amazing!

    Here is the drop I use on my belt rig.

    Then I have a paddle when I am in my comfy pants/dont have a belt on and am just around the house.

    Then a belt adapter when I am working around the yard.

    All with the same safariland holster!

    Picture of it all. The single strap safariland drop is also in there and you can see how high I have it set up.
