I am not sure why you think this would be illegal in MD. With a suitable stamp or two, you could do this.

Doesn't and SBR (in MD) need to be 29+ inches?

It's select fire, which avoids the 29in thing.

I should have said things he can't have yet. He is 19. They are rare though it would be cool to have one.

I've seen reproductions of the unique parts like handguard and front sight.

Under 21 can register SBR's. Getting the receiver is the issue I assume in MD. 80% maybe?

had 1 in the early 90s . I bought it from a dealer in FL. was a hoot to shoot. sold it to a dealer in Connecticut in 2000 ish. he may still have it.
