1962 Ruger Standard with original box and papers. Looks like a safe queen. Pistol near perfect with maybe a box of ammo ever put thru it. Not a scratch on the gun or magazine, but only a minor rub mark visable to my picky eyes. Box is in rough shape but in one piece.

That's a Standard, not a Mk. I. The magazine is also a later variant. The original mags had the floorplates crimped to the body and only had a slot on the right.

What's that prefix at the serial number? I've never seen one like that before.

    They're great shooting guns. I got a 1964 6" Standard a few months ago.

You are correct. A standard, not a MKI. I misspoke. Bummer, I thought I did my homework on the Mag. Guess I have to find an original one. No prefix just 226xxx. But there is a stamp/mark to the left. I’ll take a look at it tonight.

Nice catch! Haven't had much interest in Rugers but for the early MKIs and the military trainers. The Red Eagles always caught my eye.

Looks like a “D” stamped next to the serial number. Any ideas? Maybe a duplicate serial number?
