I have considered one! I have a friend that has had one for a while and they're really nice, but I can't get over the ACOG. It was AWESOME!

One if friends said his Sgt in 1st Cav recon had a saying about the ACOG. "every kill in high definition" haha they are great optics. I have a milk jug that a throw a few bucks in here and there, I'll put that toward the ACOG eventually.

No doubt... ACOG's are very, very nice.
But so are Aimpoint's. Especially the M4s :)

    Thanks.

About the only thing left, for now, is a sling. And I haven't figured out what kind I want yet.

Go with a single point that has bungee, can't go wrong and it helps keep down the clutter while your putting it on/off or transitioning to your support hand (weak hand) while shooting.

Is that a Vortex Strikefire optic? If it is I just picked one up also.

You will both be very happy with that optic. Mine went on my g/f's rifle and its still holding strong. Mount has stayed tight, optic stayed zeroed, its been dropped, had over 1000 rounds through it on both rifles combined. I honestly say its close to my aimpoint comp ml2. The only things that make the aimpoint better are a little clearer glass(the strikefire has more tint than the aimpoint however still less than any other cheaper red dot ive seen) and the battery life, which still isnt bad, just not as good as an aimpoint. Her strikefire is still on the original battery which has been in there since last december. The only other thing that kinda sucks is the 4hour running time, if you like to leave your optics on, or are out for awhile with it. Our model is the latested one, red dot only. Ive heard of issues with the older models. Oh, and we have never had an issue with the button turning the optic on when stored or in a case.
