    I just passed the Texas certification. It is a well thought out straightforward process. The total price is ~$35. The only problem is it expires October 9, 2020. I probably should have waited to take the course.

    Exactly. You have a choice as to how to be compliant with the law.

    Would you consider having held a hunting license prior to July 1, 1977 a "loophole"?

    Why do people always say something is a "loophole" when it's just not as oppressive as the assholes in certain states make things?

    Expiration date? I took Hunter Safety in Md in the mid 70's and again with my son in Al in the late 90's and neither one of them expire?!?!
    Once you son has the hunter safety info in the computer it doesn't ask for it again so I wouldn't worry about it
